I am not a blogger

nor a web designer. I have no "content", but I like to find other neat stuff other creative people have done.
I started-- and soon abandoned this blog and others, but rather than create *another* blog that I have to remember the login and password to, I'll just add to this.

OK well this is what I wrote for my Introduction

I am on the slow track in the program (one class per semester). This will be my 8th class, so I still have a few more years to go. My day job is as the Serials Coordinator at Augsburg College library. I've worked there for 13 years, and have seen big changes in the print magazine world. My job duties are changing from print to all things digital.

My other "job" is as a member of the board of directors at the Quatrefoil Library. (www.qlibrary.org ) a volunteer run GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender) library. I have been involved with Quatrefoil for over 20 years, and has been my "living labratory" for my classroom learning. And yes--you will be hearing *much* more from me about the Q as the semester goes on. In 2011 we will be celebrating our 25th Anniversary, so stay tuned.

I have been hearing about, debating, playing with and creating Web/Library2.0 for a while now. My enthusiam does not always match that of my coworkers/volunteers, so I've been doing a lot on my own. I learned about facebook when it was still an ".edu" only site. I joined LibraryThing.com the first month it came online. I have a SecondLife account, but never quite got the hang of it. I have a few neglected blogs & wikis, twitter account.I have a dual boot Mac (OS X and Linux) and have downloaded & compiled more opensource software than I know what to do with. Quatrefoil has been limpin along with a legacy ILS (sagebrush Athena) and have been exploring many different ILS systems (koha, greenstone, phpmylibrary...) before going with LibraryWorld.com. Welcome to the cloud.

So yes, I am such a technogeek. Looking forward to learning about some cool new tools with some like minded classmates.
